About

Maniac-Mikes has been a family-owned and operated business since 1999, when Michael Stewart (2nd generation Cable), his wife Annette and two children Kristina and Michael Jr. embarked on a journey. They remodel and added on to the existing café. After 13 months of construction Michael went from contractor to cook in August 2000.

The name “Maniac-Mike”, you ask? It came after Michael was talking to his mother Millie (1st generation Cable), who lost her battle to ALS in 1998. He told her he was going back into the restaurant business. Michael owned and operated this same location in 1974. She said you must be a maniac to do that again. “The Maniac” was born.

The man, the myth, the legend, the Maniac… Always there, never said no, burned the candle at both ends for the good of his friends, family, customers and airport. Just a straight up rad dude. He was here every day for almost 19 years, when he also lost his battle to ALS in April of 2018. Only four days after his passing, the restaurant suffered a fire deeming it a total loss. His wife and children made the decision to rebuild for the customers and the community. We all suffered too many losses that week and wanted to bring the restaurant back for them.

It was time to rebuild. After 14 months, Maniac-Mikes reopened with a new branded logo which was designed by his son, Michael Jr. using handwriting samples from his father. We reopened June 10, 2019 which would have been his 64th birthday. They operated for 9 months only to be forced to close due to COVID-19. You might think that would be enough to pack it in and call it a day, but NO…

Kristina (his daughter) and Cindy (our longest employee of 17 years) stepped up to the plate to bring you fresh food cooked to order, beautiful views, and service with a smile. The Maniac would be very proud of his two girls and think they are a little crazy to take on such a big challenge. However, you have to be a little crazy to get into the restaurant business. Come out and support these two strong women and their staff as they make Maniac-Mikes their own!

God Bless,

Annette Stewart (owner)

PSA: Be kind and understanding. The restaurant business was hit hard during this pandemic and staffing has been challenging to say the least. The ones that are here want to be here and we thank them for their hard work and dedication. Be good humans and be kind to one another.
